Classmates all, to cut to chase, I had surgery (knee replace) on January 22. While surgery [mechanics] seemed to go well, post-op has had some challenges. PT 3 x week, etc., to help me get up and racing again.  Few snags and just slower than I had anticipated. But, getting better!!!
Needless to say, I am far behind in many areas including the LHS News.  So.....some of this will be few weeks old, some news will have slipped through the cracks, and I will just have to start 'here' to begin getting news out in timely manner.  Hope you missed me!

At the recent annual gathering of the Society of Silver Dollar Collectors at the Florida United Numismatists, Ron Hagler, '57, was elected to serve on the board - a 3 year term! Meanwhile, his 'baby girl' - Sugar dog - is doing great!!! 

Some may have already seen this, but great picture from the past!!!!   I appreciate Dean Henderson and Barbara (Patton) James for sending it to me.  Taken in 1955 at church camp, shows Sherry (Church) Brown and DD Raibourn, both class 1957.  Sadly Dee is deceased.  btw...understand this pix is posted on the Lawton, OK page on Facebook.

A very Happy Valentines Day Anniversary to Johnna (Gordon) and Wayne Parks.  And a Valentines Day birthday to Don Champiomont! I know I will miss some, but other February birthdays include:  Alice (Aurell) Choice; and on same day - Bob Atkins, Simi (Stein) Kaplan, PR Ramey, and moi; 
Belva (Hollingshead) Williams; Man, these years are rolling by faster all the time!!!!!!

The LHS News does not cover politics per se, but every so often, 'politics' that should be mentioned. The Oklahoma Legislature convened Feb. 4 and sworn in to serve in the powerful and prestigious position of Speaker of the Oklahoma House of Representatives.....Rep. T.W. Shannon of Lawton.  Not only is the Speaker from our home town but he is LHS class 1996! We have known TW some years now and we know he will make Lawton and LHS proud!!!
btw....some of you may remember his dad who taught at Central.

And, '59 graduate Ann (Shepard) Tubbs came to the rescue recently.  When voters arrived at normal polling place, the building was locked and a key could not be found.  Ann, who lives very close by and has served in such capacity before, opened her home so that voters could cast their votes!!!  She was pictured in both Lawton & OKC newspaper. 

Preston Holsinger also in paper for his help with boys and girls club.  As well as George Bridges donating his dental expertise to help staff a recent 2 day free dental clinic!  Ya can't keep a Wolverine down!!!!!!  OK...once again with the Bianco's Dressing fix.....the dressing is now available at Bradys Design Center here in Lawton (1010 SW D).  And via on line at: <www.biancositaliandressings.com>  This is the dressing, in bottles, NOT the recipe. And, I have heard it is 'similar' to Biancos, not exact.

Also, Mikes Sports Grill in Lawton is trying hard to make pizza like Biancos and I have to tell you, it's close.  Have tried it and it's quite good. Their garlic dressing is reminiscent of Dantes more than Biancos, but also quite good.  At least to my tiny taste buds!

Glenda (Doan) Stanton was at MD Anderson about a month ago with breast cancer.  I am not sure of the current status or if she has come home.  My guess is that she may be home now?

My sister Suzy (Gill) Salas should be home from hospital this week-end.  She also had a knee replaced.  Doing well.  We had hoped for family discount....didn't work! haha! ******************

John Franklin Lewis, 87, of Lawton, passed on February 20.  John was husband of classmate Jane (Kinzer) Callicott Lewis.  John was an electrical contractor and quite a collector of a lot of things, in particular western memorabilia and Rolls-Royce cars!  He is survived by 3 daughters:  Neta, Kathy, Johnnye - two of whom used to baby sit for us.  John was a very colorful character.  He will be missed.  Services will be 10:00am, Saturday February 23, First United Methodist church.

Gale Humble, 88, of Norman passed on January 5.  Services were Janaury 9 in Norman.  Gale graduated from Chattanooga High School, attended Cameron and lived in Lawton where he owned and operated Humbles Barber Shop.  He married Marilyn Miller in 1950, she was LHS class 1947. They were married 56 years before she preceded him in death. He is survived by three children, all LHS grads: Steve, '69; Judy - '71; and Sandy - '78; extended family.

Carey Eugene 'Gene' Hays, 76, of Lawton passed on February 17.  Graveside services were held February 21.

Pauline 'Polly' (Greb) Winkelman, 89, of Lawton, passed on February 16.  Services were February 20. Polly was LHS class 1941.

Bruce Knowles, class of '62, has lived in Alaska the past 30+ years. He took a beautiful picture of the moon the day after Christmas. He said it only lasted about 5 minutes.

Genie (Blewett) Kelsey, '71 and brothers Tom , '69; Charles, '63; Bill, '64; and all the spouses, had a great holiday trip to Disney World!

Also taking a family trip to Disney World for Christmas treat - Johnna (Gordon) '59 and Wayne Parks, '60, kids and grandkids!

Had short visit with Steve Klos recently. Steve is the new manager at the Lawton Country Club and LHS class 1974! Good luck Steve!

I know many of you will be interested in this news.....Chris Bianco - son of Bianco's Restaurant founders John and Rose - had surgery on January 9 and received a new kidney and a new liver. Long time health issues have hampered Chris for years. So happy to say...so far so good. We certainly hope he continues to recovery and while it will be a long road, it is hoped he will be back in Lawton one of these days. We miss him and Jann and the great pizza!

Award-winning actor/director Ken Webster will be performing his show 'My 1966 & 1967 Seasons With The Houston Astros' this Tuesday at FronteraFest at Hyde Park Theatre in Austin, Texas. Webster's Twitter Feed @1968Astros started as a diary of the 1966 Astros as seen through the eyes of his favorite player from childhood, John Bateman. The diary, part fact and part fiction, has been featured in several stories by sportswriters.

Friday I'll [Gale] be performing my show, 'The Last Inning, at FronteraFest'. I'll mention finding baseball in 1949 when my parents and I moved from Apache to across the street from Tommy and Johnny Bateman in Lawton and how we played baseball on that "tiny" lot in the 600 block of McKinley Street.

The reunion planned for next summer - August 2-3-4, 2013 is picking up steam and attendees! Doyce Grayson, '56, just out of the hospital (4th). Got him 'tuned-up' and ready to go a while longer! Doyce is a LHS icon....take care of yourself Doyce!

Ben Ansley, '59, has had several parts replaced [thanks to modern medicine] and is doing real well.

Joel Boyd, '59, had cancer surgery (August), some set-backs, longer recovery than usual, but is at last, on road to recovery and no more treatment needed at this time. Good news indeed!

Mary Sue (Lowry) Silk, 93, of Lawton, passed on January 11. Mary Sue was a graduate of LHS and spent her life in education. She and husband Wesley Silk were both with the LPS for approx 40 years. Wes died several years ago. I know Mrs. Silk was a counselor and mentor for many who passed through LHS. Friends may call from 5:30pm ~ 7:00pm on Monday January 14, at the funeral home.

Services will be 10:00am, Tuesday January 15, Centenary United Methodist church with burial to follow at Highland Cemetery.

Jacqueline Jean 'Jackie' (Lemons) Mitchell, 71, of Fletcher passed on January 12. Jackie was LHS class 1959.
Jackie married Jack Mitchell in 1960, he died in 2007. She worked in Elgin the past 50 years, running the Tag Agency. She is survived by a son Scooter; 3 grandsons; a granddaughter; extended family. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00pm ~ 8:00pm on Tuesday evening, January 15.
Services will be 2:00pm, Wednesday January 16 at the Crossroads Baptist church in Elgin. Burial will be at the Old Elgin Cemetery.

Glenn Harris, 71, of Geronimo, passed on January 12. Glenn was LHS class 1959. Glenn was involved in farming most of his life but also had a construction company and worked as a realtor and appraiser, serving on the Lawton Board of Realtors. He married Carol Sue 'Susie' in 1961. She passed in 2011. He is survived by 3 children; 10 grandchildren and extended family. He was also preceded in death by a brother Mike Harris and a sister Geneva McIntosh - Geneva is the one who started the 'all-class' reunions some years ago. There will be visitation from 5:00 ~ 7:00pm on Tuesday at the funeral home in Walters.

Services will be at 2:00pm Wednesday January 16, Hart Wyatt Funeral Home.

Clarence Avery, 82, of Lawton, passed on January 3. Clarence was LHS class of 1949. Clarence married Wilda Robinson in about 1952; he later married Jo Nan Rose in 1977. He was quite active in sports, playing football, baseball, and basketball at LHS and some football when he attended Cameron. He is survived by his wife Jo Nan; a son Mark; a daughter Jamie; a granddaughter; extended family. Services were January 7.

I just received word that Dan Glascock passed on Christmas eve. Dan was recovering from a stroke and heart attack. Dan was my class - 1959. He was a classmate and a friend. Dan had a great sense of humor and we had such fun, especially in Mrs. Wickmans and Opal Fords speech classes. He was in Lawton couple years ago and we had a lunch and visit and reminisced about so many good times. Dan was living for many years in the Los Angeles area and a memorial service was held there on January 9.

Have to tell this story....Dan worked in the funeral business here in Lawton and after he moved to CA. Janey (Johnston) Scott recalls that Dan and another '59 classmate - Sidney Wright - would 'borrow' the hearse from the funeral home, swing by her house, pick her up and 'go riding'. One such time, Janeys mom, Sara Johnston, decided to go with them. She commented ...'this is so much fun'..."I am so glad I got to ride in a hearse while I am still alive". Many of you will remember Mrs. Johnston from freshman English and Latin. Sadly, classmate Sid Wright is also deceased.

I know our prayers are with those who have lost loved ones and those with health issues.

From the eMail bag and other....."Thank you for keeping us up to date with LHS 52-53.  Ed and I live in Pollock Pines, CA  in the tall trees.  He graduated in '50 and both of are in relatively good health.  Our home is at 4000 feet elevation and at the moment we have snow.  It makes for a pretty scene for Christmas."Billie Glenn, '52

Phil Carson has moved to new digs, still in Edmond area.  He reports that after several life changing events and high stress levels, he is doing well.  He does have all new contact info so hopefully he has sent it to keeper of his years graduation roster.Be sure YOU send any new contact info if you want to keep receiving the LHS News and/or info on your class reunion, etc. My Bill and I joined good friends Jim Powers, '55, and bride LuAnn (Cobb) to celebrate their 53rd Anniversary on December 28!   LuAnn is originally from S. Dakota and they met while students at OU.  Major congrats guys!

Christmas emails from Bill Newman, '55 in Modesto, CA;  Ron Hagler, who has the cutest card featuring his dog 'Sugar'; from Mike Wyant, a lovely Christmas poem he penned in 1962 - 'Home for Christmas'. The poem was recorded by a name label with a spiritual song on the reverse.

There has certainly been an over abundance of losses among our family and friends.

Suzanne (Silcott) Glover, 73, of Lawton, passed on December 28.  Suzanne was LHS class 1956.   Suzanne married Earl Glover in 1959 and worked at Lawton Stockyards, later helping with her husbands auction service. She is survived by Earl; a son; a daughter; 6 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
A grave side service will be held 11:00am on Wednesday January 2, Highland Cemetery in Lawton.

Tommy Ray Nyrop, 72, of Lawton, passed December 24 after long battle with kidney disease. Tom attended St. Marys but believe he also may have attended LHS? Tom is survived by one son, Scott Mills and wife Brandy and three granddaughters, all of Marion, TX. Several step brothers and sisters; extended family and numerous friends.  A memorial service at a later date is pending.

Kaye McCarley emailed to let us know that Richard Chapman died of heart failure on December 17 in Pauls Valley, OK. Services were December 20.  Richard was LHS class 1962. He is survived by sons Michael and Sam and several grandchildren.

Anna M. (Sparks) Taylor, 78, of Lawton passed on December 16.  Services were December 24. Anna was LHS class 1953.  She is survived by her husband John; 2 sons; a sister; four grandchildren and large extended family.

Lana Elaine (Hall) Meraz, 71, of Lawton, passed on December 26.  Services were December 29.  Lana was LHS class 1959.  I knew Lana personally and despite numerous medical problems over the years, she was always friendly and smiling. I am sorry I was not able to get this item out before the fact of December 11.  Larry Angus, '58, has written a book - 'The Hidden Message of Jesus'.  Larry is a retired Presbyterian minister in Denver.  He held a book-signing in OKC on December 11.  I am not sure how one might obtain a copy of the book but if you have interest contact me and I will put you in touch with Larry.

Bob [and Stona] Spradlins' son Matthew wrote a graphic novel that turned out to be a best seller in 2009 - 'Bad Kids Go to Hell'. Matthew has turned it into an independent film of the same title which he directed. He had a red carpet showing at the Angelica Theater in Dallas in October 2011. He then had the North American Premiere at ComicCon in San Diego this past July. ComicCon attracts over 200,000 people. It is scheduled for a release in Studio Movie Grill Theaters among others this coming December 7th.
Some of the stars are:  Judd Nelson, from "The Breakfast Club" , Ben Browder from the "Stargate T V Series", and Ali Faulkner from the "Twilight Movie Saga".  You can Google the title and see film clips on the Internet. Herb Jacobs has great article in his weekly spot - Lawton Constitution (December 2 - page 7-C).  Story is about Buck Jones - dad of LHS classmates Ronnie Jones, '55 and Eddy Jones, '49.  Buck lost his right arm when he was 9 years old, crushed when he was thrown from a horse.  Didn't slow Buck down one bit. Many of you knew and will remember Buck.  Some recollections of Ronnie and Eddy as well. Buck died at age 87 in 2001. Great read!

'59 classmate Dan Glascock is out of the hospital after suffering a heart attack and a stroke.  He is in rehab, doing better, and very possibly home in time to greet Santa!

Bob Shanklin is also home following a stroke. His daughter Kelly says he is 'better'.

Evelyn Phyllean (Nolan) Hook, 81, of Hurst, TX  passed on December 13 and services were December 19.   Think most called her Phyllean and she was LHS class 1948.  She married Bobby Hook of Lawton who preceded her in death. 
She is survived by daughters Beverly McCord and Marsha Campbell; a brother Robert Nolan and wife Jean; a cousin Glenn Nolan, '62; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and extended family.

Jo Ann 'Joey' (Johnston) Wall Wilkerson, 77, of Yukon, passed on December 13.  Joey was LHS class 1953. Joey is survived by a daughter Laurie; a son, Butch; a sister Janey (Johnston) Scott, '59; 2 grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces, and extended family.  Services for Joey were held December 18 in Lawton.

Ellen (Hittle) D'Aura, 78, of Lawton, passed on December 8 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Ellen was LHS class 1953.  She is survived by her husband Richard Rick); a son; 2 daughters; a grandson and a great grand daughter and extended family.  Private services were held, a Memorial service may be held at a later date.

James E. Gilliam, 97, of Lawton passed on November 27.  Service and burial was held with full military honors. James was father of classmate Ivalou (Gilliam) Zimmerman, '58; also Bill Gilliam, '57.  Mr. Gilliam had an extensive career in the military with service to his country. He is also survived by numerous grand and great grand children and extended family.

Randy Maples, 63, of Indiahoma, passed on December 9.  Services were December 13. Randy attended Wilson Elementary, Tomlinson, and graduated LHS in 1967. He had a distinguished career in the military and later was on the Lawton police force. He is survived by wife Jody; four children and extended family.

Not a student or graduate but I think numerous of you in the LPS knew and will remember David Fraser who was employed by LPS and worked in the Shoemaker Center.  David, 57, passed on December 16 in Edmond and services were December 21.

I always hate to report losses but even more so when they hit close to home.  My sister-in-law Terri Jo (Stowe) Gill, 60, passed on December 4 after battling ovarian cancer about 2 years.  Terri is originally from the Altus area and married to my brother Tim who is LHS class '70.  Services were December 7 in Lawton.  In addition to my brother, Terri is survived by a son Tyler, a daughter Tara; her folks and a sister, bro-in-law, and nephew.

Judy Lee (Taylor) Jenkins is asking about a class 1955 reunion? She also adds....."In the Sierra Foothills we have had a great couple of Fall days. The East Coast has nothing on us when it comes to leaf foliage. Everyone on the way to Tahoe can enjoy the view. Had a little snow last week and more to come but right now it's beautiful. Of course, we have a new 'Red Hawk Casino' that is drawing a crowd also. Thanks for the updates, I enjoy reading about people I knew "when"! "

Mary Ann (Goode) Pursley who lives at Frisco Lakes in north Dallas writes...." I was in charge of the Halloween Boo Rally (Golf Cart Parade) and the Halloween Dinner/Dance. I have attached a picture of me and my Committee (I am the yellow M&M). Lots of fun here." (see photo).

Also, Chad Bledsoe is experiencing some serious health issues. Chad and his wife Diane moved to East coast to be close to kids a while ago.

 My bro George Gill, '63, had a..well..kinda 'emergency' back surgery on Nov. 17. Piece of bone broken off and floating around his spinal column causing much pain and grief. Surgery in Tulsa (where youngest son is a PA) went well, he's re-cooping and doing much better!

Visited briefly with Jerry Boucher. He has been hospitalized with a staff infection, but out and doing better.

Also, saw Fray Palmer out and about after heart attack and treatment previously reported.
I know all these with health issues would appreciate your prayers.

 Bob Carnahan, 95, of Lawton passed on November 24. Bob is father of classmates Wayne Carnahan and Lou (Carnahan) Jennings. He is also survived by numerous grand and great-grand children. Grace (Hanks) Linville, 98, of Paradise, CA passed on October 31. Services were in CA. Grace was LHS class 1933. She is survived by 4 children; 2 sisters; numerous grand and great grand children; extended family.

Guys......there is a lot of news....some will have happened 2-3 weeks ago as yours truly has been up to eyeballs in 'personal' business. So much for 'retirement'.!!

The class 1957 - 55th reunion was just great! So I thought! Classmates traveled from far and near and seems everyone was having a fun time. Lot of people who had not been seen in a while.

Eugenia (Matthews) McClellan, Bob Atkins, Jerry Phelps, and several others who worked on the reunion did an outstanding job! I was told Eugenia carried the load! Very 'professional and efficient'. They should go into the reunion business! haha!

Jimmy Smith was in attendance...said it was FIRST reunion he had ever attended and said he won't miss the next one! I have pictures and will get them posted soon. Hope others will send pictures to me!

Bob Keiningham is living in Broken Arrow, OK and writes that over a 10 year period he had numerous bouts with cancer. Took treatment, had several serious surgeries, but now is playing golf most days and he & Shirley travel when they want. A throat surgery has affected his voice but he would love to hear from any of his old friends and classmates via email at: OBKHERE@aol.com

Ed Adams, '59, over Poteau way reports the Oklahoma foliage is turning [has turned] and looks beautiful!

A friend of mine from here, campaigning in Arkansas before the election, ran into Charlotte McGill, '56, who sent regards. Back at ya Charlotte!

Sing belated Happy [October] Birthday to: Susan (Hankins) Ellington, '56; Mary (Harris) Thompson, '56. both admit to 74. Mary said she never thought about "getting this old".!!!

Many will remember former Cameron Aggie coach Ted Owens. According to Herb Jacobs column, Ted is writing a book which will include his accomplishments while basketball coach at Cameron - 1956~1960.

Cameron at that time was Cameron State Junior College. Owens was a native of Hollis, OK and a graduate of OU. That is the only information Herb gave concerning the book, as any other info comes forth, will pass along.

Lawton High School at 11th and Ferris has completed new additions to the school. Additional classrooms on the south side run along the Ferris street toward the east! It has been dedicated and now open. Looks very nice.

Some have asked about a class 1953 reunion. This is what I have....Janette (Hanes) says the class 1954 and some of the class 1953 will have a reunion next August 2-3-4, 2013. Covert Lee Ervin is just home after 48 days in the hospital. He had serious complications following a colon surgery. He now seems on road to recovery. Covert Lee would have been class '57 but left before graduation He is retired from Shell in Deer Creek, TX. He is married to our '59 classmate, Gloria (Lamb).

Tommye (Boudreaux) Hobbs, '52, says she & Ray, '52, are both still 'upright', her arm is out of the cast & Ray is so happy she is back in the kitchen!!! Ray didn't like being a 'sous chef'! She also suggested I mention that...when a classmate moves, changes email address, or other critical 'locate me' information....please let someone know!!!! Good words! Thank you!

"I just recovered from a total knee replacement 6 weeks ago & have done great. In fact I went back to work this past Thursday, thanks to Dr. Wright & modern medicine."

Fray Palmer, '45, suffered a heart attack about a month ago. Last report was that he was doing 'ok'. Fray still operates Bucks Pawn in Lawton.

Numerous classmates or spouses of classmates continue with treatments: Dee (Vanderpool) Glass; Buddy Carey (husband of Sue Riddle); Sue (Chalk) Briggs - her surgery on Halloween went well and at this writing, she is on way home - Nov. 14; Terri (Stowe) Gill (wife of Tim Gill) is now at home, with care, after some 3 months of hospitals & rehab; Joey (Johnston) Wilkerson has been in hospital but back at 'home' in medical facility in Mustang.

Walter C. Quoetone, 58, of Norman passed on October 30. Services were November 3 in Norman with burial at Mt. Scott KCA Cemetery. Walter was - I believe - LHS class 1977. He is survived by wife Elizabeth (Sohl); large extended family.

Robin (Glasby) Castillo, 55, of Lawton passed on October 18. A Memorial service was held October 25.
Robin was LHS class 1974. Her folks were Don and 'Bobbie' (Knox) Glasby, both deceased. She is survived by husband Rick; a son, Austin.

Philip Dean Pahdopony, 61, of Columbus, OH, passed on October20. Services were October 26 in Lawton.  Phillip was LHS class 1969. He is survived by his wife Laurie (Gray); large extended family.

Calling LHS class 1953. Some are asking...any plans in the works for 60th reunion next year?

A chance encounter and nice visit with Graydon Fooshee, '51 and wife Yvonne (Aucoin), '50. They moved from Lawton to Ardmore back in June to be near their son and family. Both doing real well.

Had a nice land-line visit with Royce Mahavier, '53, and wife Lynda. Doing pretty good and still enjoying their long time home in sunny Florida!

Recollections:

"Re Tim Guzzle: very talented and exceptional leadership that did not show too much in high school. As a matter of fact, I think Tim came to Lawton High after the '51 semester started and Tim and I played on the same last or next to last BB team that was the last to go home (in almost dark) and Tim and I walked home together. Tim lived on corner of 9th and Columbia and I lived a few blocks further. Tim was a cool guy at OU and went with one of the campus beauties (first name Janis).

I did not see Tim for several years until a 90's reunion and at that time he had really advanced in the corp. world and I think he was married to Janis but don't recall her being at the reunion. He also had a little sister! Anyway, he was a real icon for the class of 54. but his leadership wasn't evident until later years. At least that is what I recall about Tim Guzzle. And what I recall about Gene Zwick (other than his talent that did show on LHS stage) was that he was the only guy that pumped iron, he was way ahead of the times in that respect."

"I read with sadness the passing of Jimmy Northcutt. Jimmy and I palled around together in LHS along with Al Wiley ( 56?). I didn't know he had moved to Indiana. I saw him about two years ago in Lawton. He owned a lot or real estate in Lawton and at one time ran a gas station on Sheridan Road. I know that he suffered a lot of health problems after he was assaulted by one of his renters. We stayed in contact over the years. I visit Lawton at least once a year since I have grandparents and a brother buried there and when we could connect we would have dinner together and catch up. He was a staunch OU fan and made a few “friendly bets” along the way on OU. He always had a smile on his face and I could count on him to bring me up to date on my high school friends and the old home town Lawton when we would get together. Hopefully he will be recognized in the '57 reunion as he was from that class. I will miss Jimmy."

'59 classmates Jerry and Kay (Pavillard) Otis are just back from Virginia. Daughter Michele had a mastectomy about 2 weeks ago. Her surgery went well and cancer is stage one. Treatment options being discussed. Jerry & Kay took care of triplets while Michele re-cooperated. I know they would appreciate your prayers.

Billie Sue (Moore) Upton Henderson, 68, of Sterling passed on October16. Billie grew up in Sterling but attended school in Lawton. She was LHS class 1962. She is survived by two sons and two daughters and their families. The family will receive guests 6:00-8:00pm on Friday October 19 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home in Lawton. Services will be10:00am Saturday October 20 at First Baptist church of Sterling. Burial will be in Sterling Cemetery.

Alvis Dean Kennedy, 72, of Lawton passed on October 12 after battle with Melanoma. He was LHS class 1957. Alvis retired after 30 years in Civil Service - Director of Photography. Later he went into the real estate business. A memorial service will be held 2:00pm, Saturday October 20, Blvd. Congregational and Christian church in Lawton.

Clarence L. Aubrey, 85, passed on October 15. Clarence attended Washington School and was LHS class 1945. He married Betty Jo (Phillips) in 1951. He was eventually owner/operator of Phillips-Aubrey Chevrolet here in Lawton. He is survived by wife Betty; 2 sons; 2 daughters; numerous grand and great grand children.

A private family burial was at Highland Cemetery. A memorial service was held October 18.
