Originally sent February 14

FYI: Some years back, 1960 classmate Bobby Newton founded the Academy of Western Artists (AWA) and recently held the 16th annual Will Rogers Cowboy Awards in Ft. Worth. Bobbys' purpose is to preserve the western arts in Fine Art, Performing Arts, and Practical Arts. Bobby lives in Gene Autry, OK.
Gale McCray, '60, attended the event. btw..Bobby is son of former Washington school 4th grade teacher Wynona Newton (deceased).

Don't forget, Gale McGray will be presenting his 'One Mans Look at Baseball' on Friday March 9 at the Duncan Story Festival. Senior Center, 1101 7th, Duncan, 6:30pm.

Heard from another 1960 classmate, Robert (Bob) Holley. He has been at U of Kentucky the past 14 years as a research analyst and has also worked managing horse farms in Lexington over 30 years! We appreciate greetings and news from the Blue-grass State!

Dan Collier had some nice reminisces about Lawton and his brother Randy. Dan is class '72 and brother to our '59 classmate Randy Collier (deceased).

Dan also asked me to let all know that the class of 1972 will be holding their 40th reunion on Labor Day week-end. Classmates are invited to gather the night before at the Lawton High-Eisenhower game, sit together, and cheer the Wolverines to victory. Event on Saturday, Sept. 1, will be at the Cameron University ballroom.
Arrangements for special rates have been made at two Lawton hotels, Springhill Suites and Homewood Sweets. For details/more information, email Dan Collier:

A very Happy Anniversary to '59 classmate Johnna (Gordon) Parks and hubby Wayne Parks, '60, today - Valentines Day! I was at the wedding but can't remember how many years ago it was...? Long time. Major congrats dear friends!

On a personal note: my Mom - Lucille - had a stroke on Jan. 30. She is doing fairly well. Most affected was her speech but it has improved. She is currently in rehab. She was 90 last October and we would appreciate your prayers for her.
