I am sorry to report the passing of Denzell Weldon Hankins, 76. Denzell passed on Sunday Sept. 7. Service will be Wednesday Sept. 10 at First Baptist church in Lawton, 10:00am.Denzell is a 1950 grad of LHS.
He is survived by wife Audrey, seven children and their spouses, sister Carol Porkorny (LHS grad). He was preceded in death by parents Ralph & Nova Hankins and brother David Hankins - LHS class '52.
The family will receive friends today - Tuesday - at Becker Funeral Home, 6:00pm-8:00pm.

Also passing, George Wade Schulte, 56. George passed on Sept. 6. Service will be Thursday Sept. 11 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic church in Lawton, 10:00am.George was born in Oregon but graduated LHS in 1969.

I know our sympathies are with these families who have lost loved ones.
Good story in the paper about Virginia (Johnson) Shaw-Scherler. Virginia who is a certified nurse anesthetist, received the 2008 Alice Magaw Outstanding Clinical Practitioner Award from the Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) during the groups meeting recently in Minneapolis. A most prestigious award. Major congrats to Virginia. Believe Virginia is LHS '54?
Most probably know but the Friday night event for the class '52 has been CANCELLED!!!!! NO EVENT for '52 on Friday night Sept. 12. Two other Friday night events are still a GO!
A LHS/McArthur pre-game Tailgate Party for all '49-'52 classes is scheduled for 6:00pm at the west side of Cameron Stadium. Attendees need to bring their own food and drinks. Classes will be recognized during the game.
A Class of 1949 Party will be held at 7:00 PM at Sarah and Kenneth Bridges home (3304 Baltimore, Lawton). RSVP to Sarah Bridges by September 6.
Then for Saturday night:LHS Classes of '49, '50, '51, '52, Saturday, September 13 at The Event, 1001 SW A in Lawton. Social hour 6:00pm. Cost: $20.00 per person.Contact Jo Riley!
LHS class 1959: meeting next Monday night, Sept. 15, to continue discussion for 50th reunion in 2009. Milo-Gordon Honda, 7:00pm. ALL '59'ers welcome and encouraged to be there!
