Summer Fun.....Doe Doe Park
Part of Lawton's history! Did you know that Doe Doe pool was filled with 880,000 gallons of crystal clear pure artesian water? Actually, all we girls remember are the cute lifeguards: Bob Mansell, Eddie Jones, and 'Niff'.

LHS Mural ~ May 2010
A mural showing the three buildings that have served as LHS since its beginning over 100 years ago and a time line of team sports championships won by Wolverines, was unveiled this past week in the LHS cafeteria where it will hang on the west wall. The mural was painted by LHS art teacher Kenny Hobbs (in the picture below) and paid for by the LHS class of 2006. The mural is oil on canvass and consists of one 10 foot by 3 foot panel; two - 3 foot by 3 foot panels. Future plans call for another 10 foot panel to be added when funds become available.

Graduation Day - 1959
Mom and Dad - so proud, so happy! One down, 5 to go!
I am a 1959 graduate of Lawton High School. I attended Washington grade school and Central Junior High.
I married Bill Williams - class '52 - on Lawton's birthday in 1965 and have remained in the 'home town' lo these many years!
I started the 'LHS News' several years ago just to pass along items of interest and to keep in touch with other '59 friends/grads.
Many who received the 'news' forwarded it to others and the 'news' has mushroomed the past few years as many from numerous LHS graduating classes have asked to receive the news.
I am very happy to include any and all.
I appreciate the kind words and encouragement and will do my best to keep you all up to speed! I am creating this blog mainly to archive past LHS News sent and provide links to other sites of interest.
I do want to give the credit to my Bill who came up with the name - The WolverNet! A wonderful partner is he and always supportive!
Contact me at jorjaw@sbcglobal.net with any comments or news!
btw, the other 5 siblings all graduated LHS: '63-'64-'70-'71-'76! Whew!
Go Wolverines!
