......LHS News......
Originally sent Feb. 5

I received a call this morning from Mitch Braley, class '57. Mitch told me that his brother Hiram T. "Tim" Braley passed away on Sunday Feb. 3.
Tim, who had not been ill, apparently suffered a heart attack. Tim was a '62 grad of LHS and worked with Mitch on a family farm/ranch spread near Simms, TX. The family will receive visitors on Thursday evening, Feb. 7 at the Bates - Rolf Funeral Home in New Boston, TX. Services will be in the funeral home chapel on Friday Feb. 8 at 2:00pm. Bates - Rolf is located at 502 S. McCoy in New Boston. So very sorry for this loss of a dear brother and friend.

Also another loss that I just heard about.....Billy Edward Dees, 75, of Snyder, OK. Billy died Jan. 28 and a private service was held or will be held at Fort Sill National Cemetery at Elgin. Billy grew up in Lawton and should have been LHS grad but not sure of year? 1950? He married Helen Jean (Krebbs) in 1959. He served in the Army for 22 years, in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He is survived by Helen and a daughter and two sons.

Received an email from '59 classmate Jerry (Sasser) Childs who is still living in Niger, Africa:.... Have heard it is quite cold in many parts of the US. Right now it feels like winter to us -- this is our cold season. We need long sleeves and many people are wearing wool hats. The mornings feel quite cold with the wind blowing and howling, bringing lots of dust in the air.

.....regards to all, Georgia
